Angelica Muro is a Chicana mixed media artist known for producing works that address issues surrounding culture, politics, and social identity.[1] Muro’s exhibitions focus on immigration, workers' rights, and class disparities.[1]

Early life and education

Angelica Muro was born in San Jose, California where her family worked in the agriculture sector.[2] Muro earned her Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) from Mills College after attending San Jose State University for a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Photography. Muro is an Assistant Professor in the department of Visual and Public Art at the California State University, Monterey Bay.[3]

Latino Art Now! (2014)

In this exhibit, Angelica Muro emphasizes the identity of her community, focusing on elements in Latino/a culture. Muro increases recognition of Latino/a artists through her exhibit, a common factor in her works.[4]
