Angelique Schouten is a Dutch technology entrepreneur, executive and author. She has held senior roles in cloud banking, low‑code/no‑code software and fractional talent platforms. Schouten helped build the the world's first cloud-native core banking platform Ohpen and led its British operations before joining the executive board as chief commercial officer.[1][2]. She later served as chief executive of CLEVR, a low‑code and no‑code software‑with‑a‑service company, and co‑founded the fractional‑executive platform 10x.team[3]. Career
===Early career=== Schouten earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and marketing management from Fontys University and a master’s degree in business from Nyenrode University. Before joining Ohpen she worked in retail banking, insurance and asset management at companies such as Aon and ING/NN Group[7]. At Ohpen she was responsible for one of the Netherlands’ first robo‑adviser services and later headed the company’s international expansion, HR, sales and marketing efforts[8].
Ohpen
Schouten joined the Amsterdam‑based cloud‑banking start‑up Ohpen in the early 2010s, initially as chief marketing officer[9][10]. In December 2016 Ohpen expanded into the United Kingdom and appointed her chief executive of the new UK division[11]. She set up the London office, obtained regulatory authorisation, brought in the firm’s first UK clients and built a diverse team[12][13]. Under her leadership roughly half of the UK workforce were women, which commentators noted as unusual in financial services[14]. In March 2018 Ohpen announced that Schouten would become its global chief commercial officer and join the company’s board[15]. Her board remit covered marketing, sales, public relations and commercial growth[16][17]. Schouten’s successor as UK CEO oversaw a smooth go‑live for Ohpen’s British clients while she focused on building the company’s worldwide commercial organization[18][19]. Cloudtract and Sportz Guru
In parallel with her work at Ohpen, Schouten co‑founded the start‑ups Cloudtract and Sportz Guru. In a 2022 interview she said that Cloudtract offered contract management software which scaled to 112 countries in 6 months serving over 6000 companies[27], and Sportz Guru provided sports data services[28][29]. She also co‑authored the fintech guide The WealthTECH Book and Forbes bestseller Monkey Money Mind[30].
CLEVR
After leaving Ohpen, Schouten became chief executive officer of CLEVR, a low‑code and no‑code software‑with‑a‑service provider based in the Netherlands[31][32]. CLEVR develops applications for industries such as manufacturing and energy using Mendix‑based technology. Schouten led the company’s international expansion, acquired a Norwegian Siemens implementation partner Digitread[33][34] and emphasized customer‑centric product development during her tenure[35][36][37].
10x.team
In 2023 Schouten co‑founded 10x.team, a platform that connects companies with experienced executives for fractional or interim assignments. A 2024 profile in the business magazine Quote described 10x.team as an AI‑powered platform that brings “freelancers in the boardroom”; the company matches fractional C‑suite & professionals such as chief financial officers, technology officers and security leaders with start‑ups, scale‑ups and established firms[38]. The same report noted that 10x.team had secured €1 million in growth funding from angel investors including Albert van Ommen, Ohpen founder Chris Zadeh and Maikel Lobbezoo[39]. By mid‑2024 the platform reportedly had more than 500 professionals in its network and over 50 client companies[40]. In 2024 10x.Team was named by magazine wired one of the 10 hottest startups in Amsterdam[41].
Writing and media
Schouten often speaks about fintech, marketing authenticity and leadership[42][43]. She has been interviewed for the series “Female Disruptors” in Authority Magazine[44]. In that interview she emphasised aligning work with personal values and encouraged entrepreneurs to make bold decisions.

Schouten is based in the Netherlands. She is known for advocating diversity and inclusion in financial technology[45][46]
