Club career
Angelos Bountalis began his youth football career with Agios Ierotheos, where he remained until 2009. He transitioned to senior football by joining Aris Petroupolis in 2009, making 22 domestic league appearances over three years. In 2012, he signed with Fostiras, where he established himself over a five-year stint, scoring one goal in 48 league appearances. During his time with Fostiras, he was sent on loan to Panthrakikos for the 2017–18 season, featuring in 7 matches.
In 2018, Bountalis moved abroad to Austria, joining SV Schwechat. During his two-year spell with the club, he recorded 33 appearances and scored 5 goals. He returned to Greece for the 2020–21 season to play for Panthiraikos, making 15 league appearances.
In 2021, he moved to the Netherlands to join DVVA, where he scored 2 goals in 26 appearances across two seasons. He then joined fellow Dutch side SV De Meteoor in 2023, making 27 appearances over a two-year period. Following a brief spell back in Greece with Ermionida during the 2025–26 season (3 appearances), he returned to SV De Meteoor in 2026.
