Trilingual share certificate of the newly formed Anglo-Czechoslovak and Prague Credit Bank, 1930
Advert of the Anglo-Prague Credit Bank, June 1940

The Anglo-Czechoslovak Bank was established in 1921 from the former operations of Anglo-Austrian Bank. It remained controlled by the latter, by then a fully-owned London-based subsidiary of the Bank of England, a specifically negotiated exception to Czechoslovakia's policy of "nostrification" of the banking sector. The Anglo-Austrian Bank (renamed Anglo-International Bank in 1926) sold most of its shares in the later 1920s.

The Anglo-Czechoslovak Bank merged in 1930 with Prague Credit Bank [cs] (est. 1870) and Böhmische Kommerzialbank to form the to Anglo-Czechoslovak and Prague Credit Bank (German: Anglo-Tschechoslowakische und Prager Creditbank, Czech: Anglo-Československé a Pražské úvěrní banka), which became the country's second-largest bank after Živnostenská banka.

Following Nazi invasion, it was renamed in 1939 as Anglo-Prague Credit Bank (German: Anglo-Prager Creditbank, Czech: Anglo-Pražská úvěrní banka), then in 1940 back as Prague Credit Bank (German: Prager Creditbank, Czech: Pražská úvěrní banka). By then, it maintained international branches in Belgrade, Bratislava, Bucharest, London, New York, Paris, and Sofia, as well as in 20 locations in Bohemia-Moravia. Its activity was discontinued in December 1943, started again in May 1945, nationalized in 1946 under the Beneš decrees, and finally subsumed in 1948 into Živnostenská banka. Its foreign operations were liquidated by the late 1940s.
