Angsuman Banerji (Bengali: অংশুমান ব্যানার্জী; born 22 August 1976) is an Indian film director, poet and author. He works in Bengali cinema. He is known for his film 12 Seconds[1], an erotic thriller starring Sreelekha Mitra and Silajit Majumder.

Early life

Angsuman was born and brought up in Kolkata. He attended South Point School and completed his postgraduate studies in Computer science from Jadavpur University. Since his school days, he was inclined to left-wing Politics of India and group theatre. His political conscience blended with a rich cultural inheritance from his family, evolving him as a thespian.

Career

In 2001, he started acting in the TV Series Ikir Mikir. While working on the sets, he became interested in film-making and started working as an Assistant Director for a Television series Cholo Bondhu Patai from ETV productions.
