Aniela Majewski

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Aniela Majewski created a sanitary pad holder and patented it in 1940. Feminine hygiene has developed over the decades and finding a way for the sanitary pads to stay stationed created an issue. Many inventors tried to solve this problem by creating answers to this problem such as Sanitary Bloomers.[1] The development and history of feminine hygiene can be found online.[1] Majewski was one of many inventors who sought out to find a way to make the flow of menstruation more comfortable. Aniela’s invention was designed to reduce leakage which would also provide stability among the sanitary pad.

Sanitary pad holder[edit]

Not much is known about Majewski's early life or her previous years before submitting a patent. Her invention of the sanitary pad holder was insertable and meant to prevent lateral or longitudinal movement of the pad by being made of rubber or rubberized cloth.[2] Overall the design of the sanitary pad holder is ultimately going to help the flow of menstruation so it prevents leakage onto the clothing, including undergarments, of the wearer. In order to do so, she developed lower and upper walls that will enclose an oval center. This oval opening would provide the support and opening for the compartment for the disposable pad. The design was mean to provide a way to hold down the hygienic pad onto the undergarments of the individual. In order to do so, its longitudinal design also helps preventing chaffing and stability, which was also a problem with early feminine hygiene products, to produce an overall comfort level.[3]
