Anil Keshary Shah (Nepali: अनिल केशरी शाह)[1] is a retired Nepalese Banker.[2] He is the former chief executive officer of Nabil Bank, appointed by the board in its 488th meeting held on June 21, 2018.[3] Working as general manager, he became the bank's first Nepali chief executive officer,[4] and held the position from 2018 to June 2022.[5]
In 2016, Shah became the president of Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) through its 30th annual general meeting.[6][7] At that time, he was the CEO of Mega Bank Nepal.[8]
Early life and Education
Shah was born in August 1 to parents Narayan Keshari Shah and Bhinda Swari Shah. He studied at Harvard Kennedy School, pursued a Master of Business Administration at FMS Delhi, and completed a Bachelor of Business Administration at George Washington University in the United States.[9]
Career
Shah started his career at Nepal Grindlays Bank, now Standard Chartered Bank Nepal, as an assistant in 1991. Within 13 years of tenure, he became the chief operating officer and head of consumer banking there.[4]
