Anita Romaniuk

Anita Romaniuk is a Canadian politician. She was born in Port Alberni, British Columbia. She received a B.Sc., and a M.Sc. at the University of Victoria and an M.B.A. at University of British Columbia, and served from December 2002 to December 2005 as one of seven elected commissioners on the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, with the Coalition of Progressive Electors.[1]

Before being elected she was on the Board of Directors of the Douglas Park Community Association for six years. In 1994 she founded the Douglas Park Arts Committee. Between 1998 and 2001 she was the Secretary of the Neighbour-to-Neighbour Association of Residents’ Associations. Also, she has been heavily involved in organizing fundraiser events for the Booth House Shelter for Battered Women.
