Jayme Lee-Anne Elizabeth Kennedy (born October 7, between 1973 - 1983) is a Canadian politician serving as the chair and director of Electoral Area C (Tweedsmuir West to Augsburg Church) in the Central Coast Regional District in Bella Coola, British Columbia. She represents a population of 661 people, as of the 2021 Canadian census, and her electoral area is the second largest in land area, covering 3,975 sq. km.[1][2]
Personal Life[edit]
Kennedy is originally from Vancouver, were she studied at the Vancouver Island University campus in Powell River. She currently lives Hagensborg, British Columbia. Kennedy and her husband Pete (divorced in 2022) owned the Bella Coola Mountain Lodge until 2022, at which time they sold it to the Lansdowne Family.[3]
Political Career[edit]
Kennedy began her political career in October of 2018, vying for the open seat as the Electoral Area C director in the Central Coast Regional District. She was unchallenged during her election campaign and won by acclamation.[4] Near the end of her first term, Kennedy was selected by a vote of her peers, to be the chair of the CCRD for the year of 2022. She has held that title every year since.
Kennedy was reelected in 2022, again unchallenged.[5]
