Anna Marie McLemore is a queer Mexican-American writer and author. She writes fantasy and magical realism that deals with issues like family, exploitation, and marginalized identities. She lives in Sacramento, California.

Early Life[edit]

Anna-Marie McLemore was born in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.[1]

Career[edit]

Anna Marie McLemore went to the University of Southern California on a Trustee Scholarship.[1] Her debut novel The Weight of Feathers was a Junior Library Guild Selection[2], a YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults book[3], and a finalist for the William C. Morris Debut Award.[4] Her second novel, When the Moon was Ours, was longlisted for the National Book Award in Young People's Literature[5], and was a 2017 Stonewall Honor Book.[6] She has been described as a strategic and skillful writer.
