Anna Stadler is an American actress who works in film and television. She is known for leading roles in the ReelShort vertical dramas Money, Guns, and a Merry Christmas, Obsessed with His Silent Bride, What Doesn't Break Me and Fated to Find You, as well as a supporting role as a model in the Netflix spy comedy Back in Action alongside Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.[1][2][3] Her other credits include appearances in Low Country: The Murdaugh Dynasty, Along for the Ride, The In Between, The First Lady and the feature film Break the Cycle.[4][5]

Early life and education

Stadler has described discovering acting at an early age, writing and staging one-act plays for family, friends and neighbors as a child.[4] In an interview she recalled finding an old iPod showing herself performing multi-character plays she had written, changing hair, wardrobe and voice for each role.[3]

According to multiple interviews, Stadler began acting in elementary school productions and school musicals, initially focusing on theatre before shifting her interest to film and television.[6][7] She has cited Kevin Jones of Kevin Jones Performing Arts School as an early mentor who encouraged her to move from background roles to more challenging parts and to pursue acting professionally.[6][8]

Stadler has said that she switched from traditional high school to an online program in order to accommodate professional work and travel for film and television roles.[9] She has also taken college business courses online and has been described as a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society, reflecting an emphasis on academic achievement alongside acting.[4][1]

Career

Early roles and training

Stadler began her career in student films and short independent projects, taking early roles in order to build a screen résumé and gain experience on sets.[9] In a 2020 interview she cited parts in the web or television series Harbor Island, Tax Season and Lucky 7, as well as short films such as Head Over Heels and Collateral Damage: A Covid Lockdown Story, and the feature Justice Through Redemption among her early screen credits.[9]

Throughout her teens, Stadler continued formal training in acting and voice, including private coaching, group classes and workshops with visiting industry professionals.[6][7] She has credited her theatre background with building confidence for live performance and described adjusting her style toward more naturalistic screen acting as her focus shifted to film and television.[7]

Film and television

Stadler's credited screen work includes both supporting and background roles in studio and streaming projects. According to film databases, she appeared in the Netflix teen romance Along for the Ride (as a preppy teen), the paranormal romance The In Between and the Showtime anthology series The First Lady as a member of Eleanor Roosevelt's staff.[4][7] She also portrayed Morgan Doughty in the docuseries Low Country: The Murdaugh Dynasty and acted in Jason Campbell and Marty Jean-Louis's faith themed drama Break the Cycle.[4][5]

In 2025 Stadler was credited as a model or influencer in Seth Gordon's Netflix action comedy Back in Action, which stars Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx.[4][2][10][11] European and Asian listings of the film also include her in the ensemble cast.[12][13]

Separately from her work as an actor, Stadler has been attached via letter of intent to star in the teen ensemble feature Lover Haters Club, promoted as a music infused coming of age comedy and festival award winner, where she is described as a "rising teen icon".[14]

ReelShort vertical dramas

In 2024 Stadler became closely associated with Crazy Maple Studio's ReelShort platform, which produces episodic vertical dramas for mobile devices.[1] She has been identified as the female lead in multiple ReelShort titles.

In the holiday themed romance Money, Guns, and a Merry Christmas, Stadler plays Iris Olsen opposite Drew Ater; the series has been released as a full movie on ReelShort and other services, with cast lists naming her among the principal actors.[1][15][16]

She portrays Eva, a mute and emotionally abused bride, in the psychological drama Obsessed with His Silent Bride, with cast lists crediting her opposite Ryan Vincent and Brooke Moltrum.[17][1] In What Doesn't Break Me, she plays Taylor Hicks, a young chief executive who has survived family abuse, while in Fated to Find You she stars as Bailey, a janitor entangled in a complicated relationship with a wealthy CEO, Mason Cain.[1][18] Commentary on the platform has highlighted her versatility in playing very different leading characters across multiple series.[1]

Writing, producing and upcoming projects

Beyond acting, Stadler has been involved in writing and development. Illuminate Magazine reported that she plays the title role in the graphic novel inspired project Hexanne and its planned feature Hexanne and Lady Tarantula, created by Everette Hartsoe, and that she has taken a producer and writer role on the drama thriller Dirty Faith.[7] She is also attached to the human trafficking themed franchise Vice Squad, playing a young prodigy named Ryan, and to the feature The Son, where she appears opposite Kiley Opsal in a narrative about confronting inner demons.[7]

Interviews have described Stadler working on an original television concept that she hopes to write, act in and eventually direct, with plans to collaborate with additional writers.[7] She has expressed interest in directing and producing to complement her acting career, viewing experience across departments as helpful to her work on screen.[7]

Acting style and reception

Profiles in regional and entertainment outlets have emphasized Stadler's work ethic, preparation and willingness to take direction as distinguishing traits.[6][3] VoyageDallas reported that casting directors often remember her auditions and invite her to read for future projects, even when she is not cast in the initial role.[6] Texas Lifestyle Magazine described her as an "award winning actress" with more than two dozen projects, noting that she enjoys roles that mix heightened drama with an undercurrent of humor, particularly in the fast-paced ReelShort format.[3]

Stadler has cited a preference for grounded, character driven performances and has said that she enjoys playing morally complex or "bad girl" characters such as Hexanne, as well as roles that explore trauma, resilience and personal growth.[7][1] She has also spoken about using her acting to support projects with social themes, including content that addresses human trafficking and emotional abuse.[7][18]

Animal rescue and other activities

Animal rescue is frequently mentioned as a central part of Stadler's life. She has described owning multiple rescue dogs and a cat, volunteering with humane societies in North and South Carolina as a dog walker and foster carer, and fostering kittens and nursing mothers that require extra care.[9][7][3] She has encouraged supporters to assist local shelters with tasks such as laundry, donations and fostering, noting that there are roles for volunteers of all ages.[7]

Stadler has also served as a spokesmodel for The Lazy Surfer, a South Carolina-based shop that sells wellness items, local art and frozen treats, a partnership she has said reflects her interest in community based small business and a more relaxed lifestyle philosophy.[7]

On social media and in interviews, she has mentioned hobbies including baking, thrift shopping, hiking and music, and has discussed skills such as singing, keyboard and ukulele, competitive gymnastics and western horseback riding, which she hopes to incorporate into future screen roles.[9][7]
