In December 2017, Westner joined the Left Party and the Left Youth Solid.[6] In February 2018, she was elected state spokeswoman of the Left Youth Solid in Bavaria.[7] In March 2019, she was re-elected as state spokesperson.[8][9] At the federal congress of Linksjugend Solid in December 2019, Westner was elected as its federal spokesperson. Positions[edit]

Her political priorities are feminism, anti-fascism, rural areas and anti-Semitism criticism. She supports maritime search and rescue, and opposes the tightening of the police law in Bavaria.[12][13]

She demands the deletion of § 219a from the penal code and an abolition of the special status of homeopathics.[14][15]

Westner demands a clear development of the public local passenger traffic and the bus and course distances in particular in the rural area.[16] In the long term, she said, public transportation should become free.[17][18]
