Anne Köhncke is a Norwegian-born, international film producer. In partnership with Signe Byrge Sørensen, Anne Köhncke founded the film production company Final Cut for Real in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2009. The company is known for several groundbreaking creative documentaries, among them the Oscar-nominated films The Act of Killing (2012), The Look of Silence (2014) and the Sundance Film Festival award-winning Pervert Park (2014). In 2019 Anne Köhncke also founded the company Final Cut for Real Norway. Anne Köhncke is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Life and career[edit]
Anne Köhncke grew up in Oslo, Norway. In 1997 she moved to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Anne Köhncke holds an MA in film from the University of Copenhagen, is an EAVE graduate and a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Anne Köhncke has worked as Commissioning Editor of documentaries at Danish Broadcasting Corporation and as Sales Executive at TV 2 World, a former distribution arm of the Danish television station TV 2 (Denmark).
In 2006-2007 she worked at the Danish film production company Final Cut Productions, mainly working on fiction films. In 2009 Signe Byrge Sørensen and Anne Köhncke decided to join forces and created the company Final Cut for Real[1] [2], and the aim was to focus on creative documentaries. The company’s films are recognized worldwide by critics, distributors and international film festivals. Anne Köhncke has produced the trilogy on social stigma by the Swedish-Danish filmmaking couple Frida and Lasse Barkfors. The first documentary in the trilogy, Pervert Park, won the World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award for Impact at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival. In 2019 Anne Köhncke founded the company Final Cut for Real Norway working with Nordic and international film directors.
Anne Köhncke lives part time in three places: in Malmö, Sweden, Oslo, Norway and in Marseille, France. She is married to French producer and film director Sallah-Edine Ben Jamaa.
