Annette Kirk(née Courtemanche) is an American, Conservative thinker best known for her marriage to Russell Kirk.[1] Born May 20th, 1941 in Queens, New York, Kirk received her Bachelor of Arts degree and an honorary doctor of letters from Molloy College.[2] She was a founding member of Young Americans for Freedom, as well as being one of the authors and the secretary for the famous Sharon Statement.[3] She was also on Ronald Reagan's National Commission on Excellence in Education which produced the famous report A Nation at Risk: The Imperative for Educational Reform.[4] Since the passing of her husband, Kirk has remained very involved in the conservative movement, founding the Russell Kirk Center for Cultural Renewal, where she served as its President until 2022. She is also editor of The University Bookman, president of the Educational Reviewer, Inc., and a board member of the Philadelphia Society.[5] She currently resides in Mecosta, Michigan.
