Annexation Party of British Columbia
The Annexation Party of British Columbia was a political party in British Columbia, Canada that sought the annexation of the Province of British Columbia by the United States of America, thus making it the 51st state of the American union.[1] It was registered with Elections BC,[2] the agency that conducts elections in the province, but never ran candidates in a provincial election.
The party, if elected, would have provided a choice to all the residents and voters of British Columbia to begin the diplomatic negotiations for annexation.
The party's founder was R. Gordon Brosseuk of Langley, British Columbia.[3]
The annexation by the United States of British Columbia was an issue in the province's colonial era.
