Anton Dyakov (Russian: Антон Дьяков, [ɐnˈton dʲjɪˈkof]; born 1 March 1980 in Almaty, Kazakhstan) is a Russian animator, screenwriter and film director. His film Boxballet (2021) was nominated for Best Animated Short at the 94th Academy Awards.
Early life and education[edit]
Anton Dyakov received a Bachelor's in Graphic Design and a Master's in Textile Design from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Almaty, Kazakhstan. After graduating, Anton worked in advertising agencies, focusing on graphic design and brand identity.
In 2012, he earned an Animation Director degree from SHAR Animation School, established in 1993 by noted Soviet animation directors Yuri Norstein, Eduard Nazarov, Andrei Khrzhanovsky and Fyodor Khitruk.
