Antonio Negret is a Colombian-American film and television director. He is known for directing the 2012 action film Transit.
Life and career
Negret was born in Colombia, and is a citizen of the European Union. He attended the USC School of Dramatic Arts. He is a fluent speaker of Spanish, English and Portuguese.[1]
He began his career as an actor, before pursuing direction. His first short film, Darkness Minus Twelve premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. It starred America Ferrera, and was distributed by MGM. Negret was named one of the 'Top 10 Latino Directors to Watch' by The Hollywood Reporter. His next film Seconds Apart, a supernatural thriller, starring Orlando Jones, was released in 2011.[2]
In 2012, Negret directed Transit; starring Jim Caviezel. The film was released through Warner Bros. Studios in select theaters.
He has recently transitioned to directing episodic television for Warner Bros.; with such series as The CW's The 100, ABC's short-lived drama Forever, and an installment of the Green Arrow prequel series Arrow.
