Anubis is a upcoming American computer-animated comedy adventure film based on the Bruce Zwick's novel The Anubis Tapestry produced by Sony Pictures Animation, which was produced by Daron Nefcy.[2]

Production[edit]

In early 2008, 20th Century Fox Animation acquired the film rights for an animated film titled Anubis.[3]

Cancelled[edit]

In 2021, before Disney confirmed that it would close Blue Sky Studios forever, along with the projects that the animation studio already had in mind; The movie based on the book had already been supposedly canceled for unknown reasons. It is said that due to creative differences or economic problems.

Revival by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation[edit]

In September 2024, it was announced that Columbia Pictures had picked up Anubis earlier in the year, and would be releasing on its theatrically service in 2026. Sony Pictures Animation was announced as the project's animation partner producers. Daron Nefcy

Release[edit]

In 2013, the film was originally scheduled for a July 15, 2016 release, but then in December of the same year, it was pushed back to March 23, 2018.[4]
