Appaji Ambarisha Darbha[1][2] (a.k.a Appaji, Ambarisha) is a Telugu Actor who primarily appears in South India films. He is fifth child of renowned press editor and Publisher Darbha Venkata Rama Shastri (Ramsha) and Siriesha. Born in Samalkota, East Godavari, Appaji is also recognised for his unicode contributions to Telugu scripture. He made his film debut in 2011 with Allani Sridhar's Thathagatha Gowthama Budha, then followed by his other appearances in films like Malli Raava, Subhalekha + Lu, N.T.R: Mahanayakudu, Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya Gaddalakonda Ganesh among others.
Early life[edit]
Appaji was born in a small town of Samalkota, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh on 1 March 1965. He is the fifth child of Ramsha & Siriesha, renowned publisher and editor of Abhisarika. He finished his early education in his hometown, and went on to graduate from PR Government College, Kakinada.
Career[edit]
In 2004, Appaji a digital enthusiast, started his career in advertising and media, and contributed to various companies as a creative director. His contributions towards Telugu scripts/fonts were noted and honoured by various personalities over the years, which were made available to the public.
In 2011, at the World Telugu Congress held in Vijayawada, His font called Ramaneeya was launched, and another set of fonts launched later namely Ponnala, Raviprakash, Lakireddy, Chatura, Peddana, Thimmana, Ramaraja, Tenaliramakrishna, Tana among others. and it wasn't until Allani Sridhar's Tathagata Gowthama Buddha where he took up acting professionally. Appaji has mentioned it over various interviews that "it isn't as easy as it looks"[3] to be an actor.
