Sanjay Reddy (born 29 June 1968) is a Media Professional, Producer, Actor and known for leading some of the top TV Channels of India in the regional space.
Early life and family
Sanjay was born in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh (India) to a family of Armed Forces and hence his early life was strictly disciplined. He finished his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Allahabad, in the year 1985 with a major in Economics & Geography. He passed his graduation exams with distinction, majoring in Economics and Statistics. He also has a Post Graduate Degree in Business Administration with a double specialisation in Marketing and Finance from the University of Pune. He is a trained shooter and holds a silver medal at the national level. Married to Swathi Reddy, he has a son, Mahikaansh Reddy, and a daughter, Gaurika Reddy.
Professional life
April 2012 saw him end his 25-year career as an employee. His last assignment was as a Business Head for Zee Network South, managing 3 channels (Zee Telugu, Zee Kannada & Zee Tamil). One of his greatest achievements in his professional career was during his tenure with Zee Network – he achieved the fastest break even in the history of Indian Media as Business head for Zee Telugu.
In 2013, he founded a digital company called SillyMonks Entertainment Pvt Ltd. & listed it on NSE in January 2018. It is the first Digital Entertainment Company in India to go public.[1] He is known for his expertise in building teams and organizations. Outside of his professional career, he was also associated with some of the most well-known professional organizations like the FICCI Entertainment Forum (Core Committee Member), and the South CII Hyderabad panel for Media & Entertainment (2010–11), Advertising Club of Hyderabad Governing Body (2010-2013),[2] Mentor edge (IIM Ahmedabad VC body),[3] Member Telugu TV Producer Council (TTPC)
Film career
Sanjay stepped into the world of Cinema by becoming a producer and launching Miss India Universe 1999 Gul Panag[4] for the critically acclaimed Bollywood film, Dhoop (2003), also starring Om Puri, Revathi & Sanjay Suri along with his friends. He later turned Executive Producer for two Telugu films - Masth & Manorama for Zee Motion Pictures. Apart from being a producer, he has made a mark on the silver screen as an actor as well, having acted in 15 films to date.
