Applied Concepts is an Orlando-based private company with more than 100 employees. It has clients across North America. Applied Concepts provides sales training, mystery shopping, call grading, and other communication optimization services that are designed to improve B2C lead conversion and improve insight into how leads are being handled.[1] It was among the first companies in the world to do roleplay-based one-on-one sales coaching using the spaced repetition method. It does tens-of-thousands of one-on-one roleplay sessions per month.

It was founded in 1983 by Alex Nicholas and focused primarily on providing management training into the automotive and office equipment industries. Over time, the company began to focus on providing phone skills coaching in the automotive industry. In 2019, the company was acquired by Boston-based private equity investors. Since its acquisition in 2019, Applied Concepts has entered into new industry verticals and has expanded its scope to include other communication channels while still embracing the one-on-one sales coaching methodology.
