April Jeffs is a Canadian politician in the Niagara Falls area.
Career[edit]
Jeffs began her career in 2001 by owning and operating a wedding and portrait photography. In 2008 she was named as Niagara's Favourite Photographer.[1] In 2010 she was elected as mayor of the town of Wainfleet[2] and as a result was regional councillor to the municipality of Niagara.[3][4] During her time as mayor she served on a variety boards, most notably co-chairing the Public Health and Social Services Committee. She was also the Vice-Chair on the Niagra Region's Budget Committee in which she sought to lower taxes including a 0% increase in 2016.[1] In 2018 Jeffs took a leave of absence from her position as mayor to run for the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario in the 2018 Ontario general election in the riding of Niagara Center. Jeffs ultimately lost the election by 3’285 votes. In 2019 after choosing not to run for re-election[5] Jeffs accepted a position[6] and was eventually named Vice-Chair of the Niagara Parks Commission.[7] During the same year Jeffs ran and won the nomination for the Conservative Party of Canada in the riding of Niagara Centre for the 2019 Canadian federal election.[1]
