Aptean
Aptean is a privately held enterprise software company headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, United States. It provides industry‑specific software addressing enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain management, manufacturing execution systems (MES), product lifecycle management (PLM), enterprise asset maintenance (EAM), warehouse and transport management (WMS/TMS), and regulatory compliance. Aptean’s solutions are used across sectors such as food and beverage, fresh produce, fashion and apparel, retail, logistics, financial services, and both process and discrete manufacturing.
As of early 2025, Aptean reported serving more than 11,000 customers in over 80 countries and employing over 3,500 people worldwide.[1][2]
History
Aptean was formed in August 2012 through the merger of Consona Corporation, an Indianapolis-based ERP and CRM software provider, and CDC Software, a spinout of CDC Corporation. The combined company began operations with over 9,000 customers and approximately 1,500 employees.[3][4][5][6][7][8]
In 2015, Aptean expanded into healthcare software by acquiring Medworxx Solutions, a Canadian developer of patient-flow and compliance software.[9]
In 2019, private equity firms Vista Equity Partners and TA Associates executed a growth buyout of Aptean.[10] Charlesbank Capital Partners joined as an investor in 2020.[11][12] In 2022, Insight Partners acquired a minority stake in Aptean while Vista Equity Partners fully exited its position, and TA Associates became the lead shareholder.[13][14] Clearlake Capital Group joined in 2024.[15]
By early 2025, Aptean had completed more than 50 acquisitions under the leadership of CEO TVN Reddy (appointed in 2018), expanding its operations and sector-specific product offerings.[16][17][18]
