Aqua Marine Shuttle is the unreleased 2014 studio EP by American Alternative rock band Days of the New, produced in coalition with the Full Circle reunion tour. The EP was scheduled to be released in the early 2010s in anticipation for the release of Days of the New Presents Tree Colors (2008 album) due to its associated delays; however, the second break-up of the original line-up of Days of the New during the Full Circle tour resulted in the album being shelved. Afterwards, Meeks spiraled into relapse and addiction – and later temporary retirement, resulting in all of the unreleased material being leaked on the internet subsequently.
Overview
This is the musical prequel to Days of the New Presents Tree Colors (2008 album), and it is heavily recommended by the band to be listened to before Tree Colors, considering the concept album's serious and mature content. The EP was self-produced by Travis Meeks and primarily consists of guitar and voice. The tracks "Magic Man", "Darkness / Sunshine" and "Sink" were essentially rock hybrids with other genres such as Blues and World. Aqua Marine Shuttle was written while under the influence, according to Meeks, and the reunited line-up was originally slated to perform on the EP.
