Arabella Klinik

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Arabella Klinik is a privately run surgical clinic located in the Arabellapark in the Bogenhausen district of Munich. With 60 beds in the fields of surgery, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat medicine, and oral and maxillofacial surgery, the clinic is part of the hospital plan of the State of Bavaria.[1] The clinic treats both panel patients and private patients. The hospital is part of the Anest group of companies, which was founded in 2018.

History

The Arabella Klinik Dr. Bonner was opened by the ear, nose and throat specialist Peter Bonner in 1970 in the northern part of the 19th floor of the then newly built Arabellahochhaus in the Arabellapark. At the same time, the ophthalmologist Hans Remky founded an eye clinic in the southern part of the 19th floor of the Arabellahochhaus, which he also ran until his retirement. Due to health problems, Bonner sold his clinic to the Schörghuber Group in 1983.[2]

In 2002, the two clinics merged to form Arabella Klinik GmbH. In 2004, the operating room area in the former eye clinic was expanded to two operating rooms and the ward was modernized.

In 2009, the Arabella Klinik GmbH was taken over by predecessor companies of the Anest Group.[3] In addition to the clinic's existing treatment focus in the areas of ophthalmology and ear, nose and throat medicine, as well as plastic and cosmetic surgery and hernia surgery, the surgical spectrum was expanded in the area of surgery, especially trauma surgery, visceral surgery, spinal surgery and bariatric surgery. In 2009/2010, the inpatient part of the clinic was modernized in the area of the former Arabella Klinik Dr. Bonner. Since 2011, the clinic has been certified according to DIN ISO 9001.

In 2011, the Herzogpark Clinic with 22 patient beds, 2 operating rooms (laminar flow, X-ray C-arm, full HD) and an intermediate care ward with 7 treatment places was built and put into operation in an adjacent building to the Arabella building. The Arabella Klinik can use the capacities and selected facilities of the Herzogpark-Klinik.[1] This allowed the surgical spectrum to be expanded to include endoprosthetics and more complex operations.

In 2013, the surgical wing in the northern part of the Arabella Klinik was renovated and the central sterilization unit was relocated.

In 2016, the oral and maxillofacial surgery department was added to the Arabella Klinik.

In 2020, the Munich-Bogenhausen Breast Center focusing on breast cancer therapy was established at the Arabella Klinik under the direction of Christoph Heitmann.[4]
