Architecture, Incorporated is an American planning, architecture, and interior design firm headquartered in Reston, Virginia. In 2017, the firm was ranked among the largest architectural firms in the metro Washington, D.C.[2] as well as among the largest interior design firms[3]. The firm has also been ranked among the largest interiors firms for both hospitality[4] and healthcare[5]

Founding[edit]

Architecture, Incorporated was founded by architects William R. Drury and Carl R. Shaw, Jr. in 1986. Both are graduates of the College of Architecture at Virginia Tech. Since its founding, the firm’s leadership has expanded to include a total of six partners and one additional principal. Projects range from complex renovations to new construction for commercial, hospitality, education, healthcare, senior living, multi-family residential, and sports and recreation clients across the Mid-Atlantic and nationally.

As of 2017, the architectural firm employed approximately 60 people working in its Reston, Virginia office as well as on-site for District of Columbia Public Schools.
