Arghushal Swati

Arghush-al Swati (Persian : ارغوش آل سواتی) is sub-branch of Swati tribe. They are the descendants of Sultan Arghush (Sultan of Pakhli Sarkar). According to Hazara Gazetteer-1883 Arghushals own the 1 out of 9 parts of Upper Pakhli (now District Mansehra).[1] One part of Arghushals includes the areas of Shinkari, Dhodial , Garhi Habibullah, Thakot and Kaghan.[2]

According to family traditions, Sultan Jahangeer, Sultan Arghush and Sultan Aznal were three brothers. In a recent research ,It is found that Jahangeris and Arghushals share same DNA haplogroup of R-FT297783.[3]

Khan Bradar Khan Khankhail in 1800s. He was the first Khan of Thakot and 9th descendant of Sultan Arghush. He established proper rule in Thakot and its side areas in late 1800s. He also imposed taxes on people which were used for the development. Khan Aurangzeb Khan Khankhail is the current Khan of Thakot. (These Khankhails are Arghushals, Not to be confused with Khankhails of Garhi)
