Arik Morshed (BENGALI: এরিক মোরশেদ ; born September 22, 1970) is a Bangladeshi businessman, a diplomat, Honorary Consul in Bangladesh, the Consulate of the LAO People Democratic Republic.[1]

Early Life[edit]

Morshed was born to Brigadier General. Sk. Abu Bakr (Retd), an honorable member of the National Parliament of the 09th Parliament Session. As a Senior Military Officer, his father was commissioned into Pakistan Army in 1966. He was a freedom fighter who joined politics upon completing his role as an Army officer. Moreover, Abu Bakr was also a member of the advisory board of Bangladesh Awami League before becoming a member of the National Parliament.

Morshed studied at Sylhet Cadet College, Bangladesh, from 1983 to 1989. He completed his Bachelor of Bachelor of Business Administration from Humber College, Canada, in 1993, his Master of Business Administration from Lakehead University, Canada, in 1995, and received his Ph.D. in Public Policy from World Peace University in 2019.[2]

Career[edit]

In 1996, Morshed began his career as Manager of Administration and HRM at Aero Bengal Airlines, the first private airline in Bangladesh. Later in 1998, he joined American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) as faculty for three years.

From 2016 to 2019, Morshed remained a Research Fellow at World Peace University.

Since 1998, he has been the CEO of The Aero Vision Bangladesh Limited, responsible for operating airline representative offices in Bangladesh markets and representing several international passenger airlines.

Morshed is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Studies at the University of Scholars. He is an Ex-chairman of the Governing body of Lakshipasha Ideal Girls College, Narail, Bangladesh, where he is a donor member of the board of trustees. He is also a member of the Finance & Planning Sub Committee of Bangladesh Awami League.

Morshed frequently contributes to Dinbodol BD and NewsOne24. He has published several articles both online and in print media and issued an international journal on Regional Security.[3][4]
