Armstrong Echezolachukwu Inya Oko-Flex (born 2002) is a footballer who plays as a striker[1] and winger for Arsenal[2] and has been called up to represent Republic of Ireland under-15 team and the England under-15 team. He attracted media attention in November 2013 when he signed for Arsenal at the age of 11;[3] with likes of Chelsea, Fulham, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur also seeking his commitment.[4]

Early life[edit]

He was born in 2002 in Dublin, Leinster in Ireland to Nigerian parents. His family has moved to the UK, to Islington in North London. Armstrong, or "Inya", attended Our Lady of Victories BNS in Glasnevin, Dublin, and [5] in Islington, London.

Club career[edit]

Armstrong started playing football for Tolka Rovers boys club in Dublin at the age of five and acclaimed as a prodigy from a very young age by many clubs including St Kevin’s Boys Club. He later joined St Kevin’s Boys Club aged 7 until his move in 2013 to the UK. Oko-Flex was player of the tournament in several football tournaments.[6] On 19 August 2017, Oko-Flex triggered another notable media attention when he made his debut for Arsenal’s Under-18 side]] as 15 years old. [7]. It was evident that the prolific young attacker proved that he actually belongs to this level of football, and played his part in the closing stages. Talented Armstrong Okoflex has been called up to join the Arsenal FC U18s squad at 15 years [8] under the keen eyes of other FAs including Nigeria [9] [10] [11]

International career[edit]

Oko-Flex is on the England youth squad, where he participated in their August 2016 training camp at Loughborough Camp (Warwick University) and further training in October 2016 at St George's Park and played his first game against Belgium in February.[12]Armstrong Oko-Flex continued to represent England U16 as they took on Turkey and Romania U16’s winning both games 2-1 on August 22, 2017, at St George’s Park, where he scored his goal. Armstrong is eligible to represent the Republic of Ireland,[13] England or Nigeria internationally. Oko-Flex was called up to the Republic of Ireland national under-15 team, playing his first game against the [Netherlands]].[14] [15]. His other Irish side international engagement include against Norway U15 and the Czech Republic U15 in March 2017. Oko-Flex made his first start against the Netherlands on 31 January 2017 for the Republic of Ireland [16][17] And returning from this game against the Netherlands, on 16 February 2017 Oko-Flex also made his first start for England U15 in a match against Belgium at St Georges' Park Football Centre, Burton-on-Trent.
