Aro Korol (born 26 September 1973, in Wisla, Poland is a documentary filmmaker currently living in London . He is the owner and founder of the film and video production company The Aro Korol Company Ltd.[1][2][3][4]

Biography[edit]
Korol was born in Poland. From Poland Korol moved to Paris, France where he stayed for twelve years. He later studied filmmaking in New York University in 1997. Korol's grandmother worked in a local cinema where he would often sneak in to watch film shows.[5]
Career[edit]
Aro Korol started his career as the 3rd Production Assistant on Schindler's List, which was directed by Steven Spielberg. In 1999 Korol started his own film production company: Korol Film Digital S.A.R.L. In 2005 he returned to New York where he established Awesome Industry and gained exclusivity at ROXY to film events with Madonna as well as Peter Rauhofer. He was also the editor of the film Moja Moja which starred Hugh Jackman. Korol has produced a TV interview with Francis Ford Coppola. In 2014 he started THE ARO KOROL COMPANY LTD. which has its main office in London. The company deals with motion picture and video production activities.
Battle of Soho[edit]
Korol directed the documentary feature film Battle of Soho in 2017. He also has co-written it with Johnny Deluxe. The movie demonstrates the alleged gentrification and sanitisation of London’s Soho through the eyes of its residents, workers and visitors. The film was previewed at the CURZON in a series of 3 events together with Ingmar Bergman and David Lynch. The movie will open in May 2017.[6][7] The interviewees in the film include among others Stephen Fry, Lindsay Kemp, Peter Tatchell, Joseph Corré, Pandemonia, Daniel Lismore, Alex Proud and the voice over by Johny Deluxe.[8]
Hitler's Daughter Controversy[edit]
Korol received death threats for making a film about antisemitism called Hitler’s Daughter. The film examined antisemitism in Poland and, in particular, accusations about antisemitism made against the Catholic Radio Maryja radio station. Korol put together a two-minute clip and showed it at the Galway Film Festival before putting it on the internet. The promotional reel caused great turmoil in the Polish media. Articles were published in Hungary, Germany, Spain and the Czech Republic. He became the object of numerous attacks, received many death threats. The project was'nt finished due to the personal attacks.[9]
