Ali Chappell born Alexandra Marie Chappell is a Canadian actor, writer, producer and award-winning director. Chappell has made a name for herself within the horror genre as an actor in a number of films produced by Charles Band for Full Moon Features. [1] Her directorial debut, Verified, allowed her to explore new mediums and become an award winner. As well she was previously a writer for online outlets such as ComingSoon.net, HorrorDNA, Delirium Magazine and more.

Career[edit]

Ali Chappell[2][3] [4][5] started performing at a young age in both the kids choir at church and in schools. By high school she had appeared in several music videos, on stage plays and musicals and done minor background work. In 2008 she starred in her first short film, Slow Shutter.

She appeared in numerous music videos, short films and feature films before making her big break with Full Moon Features Deadly Ten[6][7] film Necropolis: Legion[8] in 2019 as the leading role of Eva. Directed by Chris Alexander and produced by Charles Band. Since then she has made It Knows You're Alone[9] and Scream Of The Blind Dead[10] with Full Moon Features. All are available on Amazon Prime, Tubi, Full Moon Features, etc.

In 2020, she modelled for Dynamite Comics and appeared on the cover of Vengeance of Vampirella[11]. While Necropolis: Legion was being released they paired with a graphic novel that featured a cartoon version of Chappell on the cover. She has also appeared as a model in Delirium Magazine as well. Following her small stint in modelling, she went on to star in an episode of Disasters At Sea on Crave, AppleTV and CTV

In 2021 She wrote and directed her debut short film, Verified[12][13][14]. A film about a social media influencer, played by Arrielle Edwards, who will go to any lengths to gain fame online including dying. Chappell was awarded Jury Award for Best Short Film Salem Horror Fest which allowed her film to be released on VHS tape and The Special Jury Prize for Best Debut at the Knoxville Horror Film Festival[15]. The message and visual effects she created for this short have been part of a long running love she has for social media base horror films. Verified is currently being written into a feature film script.

Chappell also co-runs Toronto's only ALL Horror movie convention, Horror-Rama.[16] She came on board in 2018 as staff and has since been helping to keep this convention fun and bring everyone's favourite horror movie guests to Toronto.

In 2021 she teamed up with director Chris Alexander again to create Girl With A Straight Razor[17][18] released through Darkside Releasing[19]. Who also released the couples first film together, Space Vampire, which they shot in 2017 but shelved for years.

She is currently in post production on her follow up film Malediction[20] which she wrote and directed. As well, is in pre-production on a brand new short film coming late 2022 called The Hunger. All under the banner of her new production company, KnifeBird Films, she founded in 2021.

Chappell stars in two new feature films coming out late 2022. The Day Lacey Called. Based on the novel The Day Satan Called by Bill Scott. As well, The Damnations of Dracula. She plays the title role in both films. She will also be starring in an episode of See No Evil on Discovery+.

Chappell made her first convention appearance as a guest in 2021 at Frightmare In The Falls[21] and continues to book more as she loves meeting her fans and shopping with local vendors.
