Arthur Robinson (10 March 1864 – 21 March 1948) was an English scholar and academic administrator. He was Vice-Chancellor & Warden of Durham University from 1922 to 1924.[1]
From Nawton, Yorkshire, Robinson was educated at home by private tutors. He graduated from Durham University in Classics in 1891, later earning his MA (1894) and BCL (1896) while working as a schoolteacher.[2] He was successively appointed a lecturer in Classics at Durham in 1899, Professor of Logic and Philosophy in 1910, and finally the inaugural Professor of Education in 1919.[1]
Robinson was the first Durham graduate to become Vice-Chancellor.[2]
