Arup Baidya (born 8 December 1980) is an Indian badminton player from West Bengal who has won a number of state, national and international level titles. He was senior state champion of West Bengal from 2009 to 2015 and state ranking champion in singles and doubles for the last ten years. Arup Baidya was the sub junior National Champion in 1996. He was a quarter finalist in Senior National in 2007 and 2008. At international level he represented India in the Dubai Open International senior tournament in 2009. He represented India for French Open in 2009. In addition to this he also represented India in Badminton Asia Junior Championships in 1993 at Hongkong, and numerous other championships. Arup is a World Railways gold medalist for two times in 2005 and 2009. He set up the Baidya Badminton Academy (BBA) in Kolkata with three branches located in Jalpaiguri, Shiliguri and Durgapur of West Bengal with a vision "Cherish Talent to Make Champion".
