Ascendant Studios is an American independent video game developer based in San Rafael, California. Founded in 2018 by Bret Robbins.[1][2][3], Ascendant Studios is a fully independent AAA video game studio with complete ownership and creative control over their debut title, Immortals of Aveum™[4], a big budget, single-player,first-person magic shooter set to release in 2023[5].
History[edit]
Founded by Bret Robbins, creative director behind the original Dead Space[6], as well as the campaigns for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[7], Advanced Warfare[8], and WWII[9]. The studio has assembled a team of game developers with BAFTA and Game of the Year award-winning experience on franchises such as Telltale's The Walking Dead[10], Marvel’s Spider-Man, Borderlands[11], The Wolf Among Us[12], Mafia, Tomb Raider[13], Gears of War[14], Metal Gear Solid[15], The Elder Scrolls[16], Call of Duty[17], Dead Space[18] and BioShock[19]
Games in Development[edit]
Ascendent Studios is currently developing their debut title, Immortals of Aveum™[20], a new single-player, first-person magic shooter set in an original fantasy universe. Immortals of Aveum was officially announced at The Game Awards 2022[21] with a teaser trailer[22], along with announcing their partnership with Electronic Arts’ EA Originals label[23] to publish the game. Immortals of Aveum is being built on Unreal Engine 5[24] and is planned to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2023.
