Ashok V. Bhushan
ASHOK V. BHUSHAN is also known as Ashok Bhushan or Ashok in the Film Industry. His real name is Vidya Bhushan Jeswal. He is known for Directing the Films: “Ahutee“(1974) Starring: Rajendra Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Praveen Babi,Rakesh Roshan and others; “Shirdi Ke Sai Baba” (1977) Starring: Sudhir Dalvi, Manoj Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha, Dheeraj Kumar and others; “Painter Babu” (1983) Starring: Minakshi Sheshadri, Rajiv Goswami and others.
EARLY LIFE[edit]
Ashok Bhushan was born in Lahore, Erstwhile Punjab. His father Dr. U.R.Jeswal was a well-known doctor who worked in various hospitals of Uttar Pradesh. His mother Mrs. Savita Behn was a well-known and famous Politician, Social Worker and Educationist in New Delhi. She was a Member of Parliament and was decorated with Padma Shree Award by Government of India for her contributions towards the welfare of the women and poor of New Delhi. He has one elder sister, Mrs. Shashi Goswami, who is married to Film Personality and Actor Mr. Manoj Kumar. He has one elder Brother Col. Vijay Bhushan, who retired from Indian Army.
ACADEMICS & SPORTS[edit]
Ashok Bhushan did his schooling in New Delhi. He did his Graduation in Science from s Hindu College of University of Delhi. He further passed degree course in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Jammu and Kashmir University at Srinagar. Besides being the captain of the Cricket Team at Engineering College, Ashok Bhushan played Cricket for the State of Jammu & Kashmir in Ranji Trophy Cricket Tournaments. He was also part of Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Team for Inter-Varsity Cricket Tournaments.

Ashok Bhushan did not pursue his career as an engineer but joined Manoj Kumar in 1969 as Controller of Production in his Film “ Purab aur Pachchim”. He did more films like “Roti Kapada Aur Makaan”, “Shor”, “Kalyug Ki Ramayan” as Production Controller. He directed the famous and successful movie “Ahutee” in 1974 and also wrote the dialogues for the same. This film’s Starcast comprised of Rajendra Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Rakesh Roshan, Praveen Babi and others.Then he directed the films “Painter Babu”, “Shirdi Ke Saibaba”, “Ricky”. He worked as Associate Director for Epic Film “Kranti” and also “Clerk” and “Jaihind”.
In 1999 he shifted to T.V. Media which was growing very fast and joined “Star T.V. Network” as Controller of Productions. In 2002 he joined the prestigious B.R.Films as Vice -President and controlled the productions of famous films “Baghbaan” and “Baabul”, both starring Amitabh Bachchan. After movie “Bhootnath” at B.R.Films , he joined “9X T.V.Channel” as Vice-President. He later joined Select Media Holdings and produced two Marathi movies for the company “Zapatlela-2” and “Sata Lota Pan Sagla Khota”.
PERSONAL LIFE[edit]
In 1974, Ashok Bhushan married Anita Maher and together they have two sons, Aditya Jeswal , a renowned architect and Anshuman Jeswal, a media creative director.
