Ashvin Harrison (born 1984) is an Australian contemporary artist known for his combination of charcoal and acrylic paints in creating figurative and abstract works.[1] His art often explores themes of life, existence, and the contrast between darkness and vibrant color.[2][3] Charcoal is used to depict realistic forms, while bright acrylic splashes symbolize emotion and movement.[4][2]
Early life and career
Harrison was born in Elizabeth, a suburb on the outskirts of Adelaide in Southern Australia.[5]
Completely self-taught, Harrison began publicly sharing his work in the early 2010s.[1] His art has gained international attention, with exhibitions across Australia, Europe, and the United States. [6][7]
In 2022, Harrison teamed up with tennis player Barty and Rado to create a one-off piece of art that was auctioned off in support of the well-regarded children’s charity, the Make-A-Wish Foundation.[8][9]
Personal life
He continues to live and work in Australia.[10]
