Ashwin Ramaswami is an American lawyer and politician.[1][2][3] Ramaswami was a candidate for the 48th district in the 2024 Georgia State Senate election, losing with over 46% of the vote against incumbent state senator Shawn Still.[4][5][6][7]

Early life and education

Ramaswami was born to an Indian Tamil family and raised in Johns Creek, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.[8] He attended Stanford University, graduating in 2021 with a degree in computer science.[9] He later attended Georgetown University, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree.[10] He previously worked at the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency as an IT specialist.[11]

Electoral positions

Ramaswami is a member of the Democratic Party.[12] He has advocated for increasing teacher pay and healthcare funding.[9]
