Ashwini Giri is an Indian actress known for her work in both Marathi and Hindi-language films. Born and raised in India, she lives in Pune.
Career
An Indian actress [1], Ashwini Giri is noted for her work mainly in Marathi film and TV industry. Ashwini Giri is an alumnus of the National School of Drama (Batch 1995), New Delhi. She worked with the National School of Drama Repertory Co from 1995 to 1997, where she worked under major theatre practitioners including Barry John, Prasanna, Ratan Theyyam. She is currently involved with various groups in Maharashtra.
After featuring in a few short films like Ek Aakash (2004), Ashwini made her debut on the silver screen with Shwaas (2004) in which she played the role of Mrs. Vichare. Throughout her career Ashwini Giri has acted in several critically acclaimed films [2] including Shwaas, Valu_(film), Vartul, Vihir [3], Restaurant_(2006_film), Shala_(film), Chittthi, and Lathe Joshi[4]. Shwaas was an official Indian entry for the Oscars in 2005-06. Her other notable film credits include Ek Cup Chay (2009), Ha Bharat Maza (2012), Anna, Kisan Baburao Hazare (2016), and Chitthi (2018), a romantic-comedy. She is associated with the 2018 Marathi movie Firkee. Her 2019 [5] releases include Bhai:_Vyakti_Ki_Valli and Bhaai - Vyakti kee Valli Part 2 directed by Mahesh Manjrekar.
Personal life
Ashwini Giri graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Pune University, Pune and a Diploma in Acting from National School of Drama, Delhi. Ashwini is married[6] to Chittaranjan Giri, an actor.
