Ashy Akakpo (born 6 March 1999), is an English gospel and neo soul-influenced singer and songwriter from North West London as well as the co-founder and head of The Awake Ministries. She grew up singing in her church from a very young age and also learnt to play the piano and taught herself the drums.[2] She also performed in various school events and other events, which boosted her confidence as a singer and performer.

As a teenager, she concentrated mainly on her creative writing, starting up a blog and pursuing her love for writing by choosing Creative Writing to study as her degree. But her love for music didn't seem to fade away. In the autumn of 2019, she announced on Instagram that she had decided, after a lot of prayer and consideration, that she was going to take music more seriously than she ever had before. She began to convert her YouTube channel into a music channel, posting a series of covers on both YouTube and Instagram. And by February 2020 she released independently her debut single "Without Condition".

Ashy had also recognised her passion for the preaching and teaching of God's Word, especially when it came to the youth. She acknowledged how so many young people are looking for truth and a community to belong to, but don’t know where to go or who to turn to. So, for this reason, after a lot of prayer and fasting, she, with her two friends Darnell Christie and Florence Banjo, founded The Awake Ministries in June 2021.[3] The Awake Ministries is a London, UK based, Christ-centred, youth focused and evangelism driven ministry. The aim of the ministry is to wake up young people and bring them to truth by not only preaching and teaching truth, but also by living it.
