Asiman Hasanov (Azerbaijani: Asiman Balakişi oğlu Həsənov; born 4 September 1974) is an Azerbaijani scientist, general surgeon, researcher. He is the author of 2 methodical tools, 1 textbook, 1 teaching aid, and 1 practical aid. He is known for his activities in health management and construction of hospitals in Azerbaijan.
Early life and education[edit]
Asiman Hasanov was born on 4 September 1974, in Nuvedi village, Megri district, Zangazur. In 1981–1991, he received secondary education at the Nuvedi village secondary school, in 1991 he entered the II treatment-prophylaxis faculty of Azerbaijan Medical University, and in 1997 he graduated with the specialty of treatment work.[1]
In 1997–1998, he completed a one-year internship and earned a doctor-surgeon qualification. In 1999, 2001, 2006, he was in training in Loporoscopy and Endoscopy at Ege University in Izmir. In 2022, he graduated from the Faculty of Administrative Management of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, majoring in management.
In 2009, he defended the scientific work "Course and regulation of chronic pancreatitis after gastric and duodenal operations" and in 2010 he received the scientific degree of doctor of philosophy in medical sciences. Currently, he is working on his doctoral thesis entitled "Medical, social and economic aspects of open and minimally invasive surgical operations".[2]
In 2015, he received the scientific title of associate professor.[1] On 18 June 2021, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, he was awarded the "Taraggi" medal for his outstanding activities in the field of health in the Republic of Azerbaijan.[3]
Career[edit]
Asiman Hasanov started his first career in 1993 as a medical brother in the M. Nagiyev Emergency Hospital, and in 1997 he continued his career as an intern in the surgery department. Since 1998, he has been working as a chief laboratory technician at the "General Surgery" department of Azerbaijan Medical University, since 2013, he has been an assistant of that department since 2015.[1]
At the same time, he was the chief physician of the Eurasia Clinic in 2006–2010, Medical Plaza in 2010–2013, and Educational-Surgical Clinic of Azerbaijan Medical University in 2013–2016.[1][4]
In 2016–2017, he lead the Grand Hospital. In 2017–2019, he was the head of the management board of Eurasia Hospital. In 2019, he was appointed the chairman of Azerbaijani Management Union of Medical Territorial Units.[4]
Currently, he is the executive director of the Baku Health Center since 2019.[4]
Scientific career[edit]
Asiman Hasanov is the author of 2 methodological tools, 1 textbook, 1 teaching aid, 1 practical aid and more than 50 scientific articles. He actively participated in supporting public health initiatives and promoting preventive measures to solve various health-related problems in Azerbaijan. He is known for his activities in the field of health management and hospital construction in Azerbaijan.[1][4][2]
He has participated in clinical research and collaborations aimed at improving existing surgical techniques and developing innovative approaches, and has played a role in initiatives to improve the overall patient experience, including postoperative recovery, pain management and long-term quality of life.
As a result of Asiman Hasanov's scientific activity, the medical aspects of open surgeries versus minimally invasive procedures have been widely investigated. He investigated how surgical interventions affect patients and their families, taking into account factors such as postoperative recovery times, quality of life and patient satisfaction. Asiman Hasanov evaluated the effectiveness of open and minimally invasive surgery, analyzing resource utilization, length of hospital stay and postoperative care requirements.[2]
One of the main aspects of Hasanov's research was the examination of technological achievements in healthcare. Throughout his career, Hasanov has actively promoted the integration of advanced medical technologies into healthcare systems. He conducted research and developed projects aimed at combining advanced tools and techniques in various medical specialties.[5][4][6]
