askalo (always styled with a lowercase letter) is a free vertical classifieds search engine for homes, jobs and cars. It was relaunched in May 2017 and can currently be used as a public beta version. As of October 2017 askalo is available in more than 40 countries worldwide. Currently, the site is available in English, Spanish, German, French and Dutch.
Search Engine[edit]
askalo trawls the internet to find ads from thousands of websites. Furthermore, askalo also builds partnerships with hundreds of classified sites that list their ads on askalo. Users can search by specification and location and use filters to refine their search. It takes one click to reach the original ad from askalo.
askalo is available in a desktop version and a Progressive web app (PWA) for mobile.
Company[edit]
askalo is one of the three local web applications, including Locanto and Yalwa, created by the German start-up company, Yalwa. Klaus P. Gapp, CEO and founder of Yalwa, previously founded and operated OpusForum, a local classifieds site for the German speaking market. OpusForum was bought by Ebay in 2005 and merged with its classifieds site Kijiji one year later.

askalo was originally launched on August 3, 2010 as a social networking and user-generated local question-and-answer (Q&A) site. Askalo users could ask questions about any local topic and share answers tailored to their individual needs.
