ADEPT is the main trade association in England for local council services involved in planning and transport.[1] It is headquartered in central Manchester.

History[edit]

The association's origins were in the former County Surveyors' Society for county surveyors, being amalgamated in 2010.

Function[edit]

ADEPT represents local council and transport authority personnel in England.

It works with the Society of Chief Officers of Transport in Scotland, the Department for Infrastructure (Northern Ireland), the London Environment Directors Network, and Transport for London (TfL).
