The Asteroid No.4 is an American psychedelic band based in Northern California. Originally forming in Philadelphia in the late 1990s, the Asteroid No.4 have remained an active studio and live act, considered to be stalwarts of the modern “psych” genre[1]. Known for their prolific discography of reverb-drenched recordings and liquid-projected live performances, the band is often categorized as “neo-psychedelic[2] or “shoegaze[3].

History[edit]

Originally formed in Philadelphia by Scott Vitt (guitars/vocals), Eric Harms (guitars), Gregg Weiss (bass) and Bill Reim (drums), the band has gone through a number of lineup changes. Currently the band has settled on original members Vitt and Harms, with the inclusion of Matt Rhodes (bass) and Adam Weaver (drums). The band relocated to northern California in 2013.
