The elementary school (pre-kinder through fifth grade) teaches reading, language, mathematics, science, social studies, and Bible. Every student has the opportunity to be instructed in art, music, physical education, and computers.
All faculty members who teach academic courses from K-12th grades are certified teachers. Class size ranges from 13 to 18 students. Facilities include elementary and high school libraries, art room, music room, computer room, science lab, and classrooms with air conditioning.
The secondary school (grades 6–12) offers a U.S. college preparatory curriculum. The school offers advanced math, the sciences, physics, foreign language, computer, English, social studies, and electives in fine arts.
The college-bound seniors generally score on or above the national USA averages on the SAT and ACT which allows graduates to attend university, with some receiving academic scholarships.
ACA offers interscholastic and intramural school sports activities such as soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
History[edit]
Asuncion Christian Academy had its beginning in 1958 in the educational facilities of the Free Methodist Mission, sponsored by Free Methodist, Mennonite, and Assembly of God missionaries. It began under the initiative of Frank Weins, with an initial enrollment of six pupils and with Lucy Huston as a teacher. In 1963 a Constitution was adopted and a board of trustees was established. From a teaching staff of one, the school has grown to a complete program from pre-kinder through 12th grade.
