Atal V. was an Indian career banker who served as the thirteenth Chairman of State Bank of India.[1][2]

Early career[edit]
He has joined the State Bank of India as a probationary officer and served in a number of roles until finally becoming the Chairman of State Bank of India in 1990.[1][2]
Banking career[edit]
He served as the thirteenth Chairman of State Bank of India from 15 January 1990 until 17 February 1990.[1][2]
After his retirement in 1990, he was succeeded by M. N. Goiporia as the Chairman of State Bank of India.[1][2]
With a tenure of only 33 days, he is notable among all the chairmen of State Bank of India for having had the shortest ever tenure as the Chairman of State Bank of India.[1][2]
