Atur Bey is a poet-author from Indian state of Assam Karbi Anglong District . He was born on 30th October 2003 at On Bey Village, Den Arong.[1]Atur has authored 4 books and written around more than 10 songs in the Karbi language (also known as Mikir or Arleng) people of Northeast India. He had contested in many poetry festivals and had won several awards in the field.[2]
Early life
At an early age when he was in class Ⅵ he started reading poems written by famous poet. As a result of his interest in reading poem, it led to pen down his feelings and brings his first poem in that same year.[3] Atur write the poems and published it in the Local newspaper which led to gain his confident in writing poem. Thus Atur journey to the poetic world began[4]. Atur started participating in poetry festival at Diphu Poetry Festival organised by Jambili Literary Foundation , Diphu.[5]
Schooling
Atur Bey started his schooling at Dengaon English L.P. School where he studied upto 5th standard. Then he studied Class VI and VII at Chinthong Ronghang English M.E. School. After that from class VIII to matriculation he went to Mount Sinai English High School, Dengaon[6]. He passed his Higher Secondary from Alpha Beta Jr. College[7], Nagaon and Now he is pursuing Degree at Nowgong College ( autonomous), Nagaon.[8]
