Overview[edit]
The network of Austin Regional Clinic includes twenty-four health clinics in the Texas Counties of Travis, Hays, and Williamson,[1] and a staff of about 360 medical professionals and 1500 other employees.[2] Austin Regional Clinic was founded in 1980 by Norman Chenven, who is now the company’s Founding CEO. The current President and CEO of the clinic is Anas Daghestani,[3] who joined the clinic in 2005.[4]
In 2012, ARC’s Medical Home signed HEB, and became the first private employer to have its workers’ health managed under the program.[5] In 2015, the clinic began a policy of not accepting children as patients if they had not been previously vaccinated.[6] That year it also became a member of the Accountable Care Organizations association of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. In 2017 the clinic began partnering with the St. David’s North Austin Medical Center for the delivery of newborns for pregnant patients,[7] and began providing telemedicine services through its eMD Access platform.[8] That May it also opened an after-hours care facility, for evening and weekend appointments on its Cedar Park campus,[9] bringing the number of its after-hours locations to six.[2]
