Australasian Federation of Family History Organisations

The Australasian Federation of Family History Organisations Inc. (AFFHO) is the umbrella organisation for family history societies in Australia and New Zealand.[1] It was formed in 1978 to coordinate and assist the work of Australian and New Zealand groups with interests in family history, genealogy, heraldry and related subjects.[2][3][4]
AFFHO coordinates National Genealogy Congresses every three years, and Family History Month for Australia each August, including related giveaways.[5] The 2022 AFFHO National Congress was held in Norfolk Island.[6]
In 1987, the Australasian Federation of Family History Organisations (AFFHO) bestowed on Nick Vine Hall the N.T. Hansen Award for Significant Contribution to Family History.
AFFHO presents the Nick Vine Hall Award on an annual basis to member societies (in two categories based on membership) for the best family history journal/newsletter in Australia and New Zealand.[7][8][9]
