The Australian Council of Professions (ACoP) is the unifying alliance of Professional Associations that represent more than 800,000 Australian professionals including engineers, healthcare and information technology professionals, veterinarians and accountants. Founded in 1971, ACoP is seen by the community, industry and government[2] as thought leaders.

ACoP's members are professional associations and supporting organisations who advocate for community confidence in all professionals.

The Council seeks to support professions and influence policy in the areas of:

  • Education, Accreditation and Employability
  • Professionalism and Ethics
  • Diversity, Culture and Inclusion

Members include the Australasian College of Health Informatics, the Australian Computer Society, the Australian Library and Information Association, the Australian Medical Council, Australian Psychology Accreditation Council, CPA Australia, Engineers Australia, Speech Pathology Australia and others.

The Council is affiliated with the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia (COSBOA)[3] and the Asia-Pacific Federation of Association Organizations (APFAO)[4]
