Australian rules football has been played in Pakistan since 2014, starting with the creation of the Australian Rules of Pakistan Football League.

History[edit]

AFL Pakistan was formed on 1 April 2014. In November 2014, Tayyab Chattha and Chaudrey Zulfiqar Ali introduced this game in Pakistan with help of Australian High Commission Islamabad staff opted to vacate the role of chief Organizer.

Currently AFL Pakistan has held few tournaments. In 2015 CDA MARGLA SPORTS FESTIVAL, THEM in 2016 1st National Championship was held in Pakistan sports boad on 26-28 sept 2016, where 8 team all over Pakistan participated and final match was live telecast on PTV SPORTS on 28 sept 2016, Punjab vs Islamabad. Islamabad tiger won the final by 34-30 points. There are 15 club football in Pakistan at the moment, all located in different cities, 4 club in Islamabad,4 Rawalpindi 2 in Gujranwala, which include:4 girls club

National team[edit]

The Pakistani national side are known as the Dragoons and have played their first game on 16 August 2014 against India. The match was won by India.
